Travel

The easiest way to go to Nijmegen by plane is flying to Amsterdam (Schiphol Airport). There is a train station right below the airport. A direct train takes you to Nijmegen Central Station in about an hour and a half. As an alternative, you might consider the airport of Weeze in Germany. From there you can use the shuttle service (one-way: EUR 18,- , booking ahead required) to get to Nijmegen.

The workshop venue 'Faculty Club Huize Heyendael' is at the Radboud University campus. A map can be found here. The bus stop closest to the workshop venue is 'Bus stop UMC Sint Radboud'. Lines 6 (in the direction of Brabantse Poort), 9 (in the direction of Grave), 10 (in the direction of Nijmegen, Heyendaal), 83 (in the direction of Venlo) and 300 (direction Heyendaal HAN) stop here. All buses stop at the central train station. There are several buses that bring you from the central station to the city center, but only lines 6 and 300 stop at both the city center (line 6: Plein 1944, line 300: Plein 1944, Burchtstraat, Valkhof) and the bus stop closest to the workshop venue.

For more detailed door-to-door travel information, see 9292ov.

The OV-chipkaart is the new means of payment for the public transport system in The Netherlands. If you are from abroad it is probably easiest to buy (single) tickets in the bus (cash payment required).
